About The Chassahowitzka Hotel

Long, wide outside decks, surrounded by massive oaks with hanging Spanish moss, natural sounds, and the peace for which you have been longing is at the historic Chassahowitzka Hotel bed and breakfast in Homosassa, FL.  Go back in time with the genuine old Florida architecture and Old South setting just a short walk to the real and raw Florida seen comfortably from your boat or kayak on the Chassahowitzka River.  Lounge in the Seven Sisters Springs, see underwater caves, bird watch, fish, and boat in intensely natural surroundings.  Your genuine and accommodating staff will help you prepare for just the right mix of relaxation and adventure.

The large common spaces and outside areas are ideal for socializing and large get-togethers including golf outings, family reunions, or natural adventure groups.

Established in 1910, massively renovated in 2001 by David Strickland, and true to its form since the beginning as being a cozy place to relax and unwind between explorations, the ‘Chaz’ hotel is ideally located a few miles south of Crystal River and Old Homosassa and southwest of Gainesville and Ocala.

Accept our invitation to rock outside on the decks, lay back in the leather lounge, and soak up all the southern charm of this remarkable, historical bed and breakfast.  We seek to retain the service and spirit of the Hotel’s founders, the Strickland family and add our own touches of amenities and comfort as we seek to make this a destination getaway for both the world-weary and adventurers.
